Description

These knives were developed over 3 years of being in the African bush, created after identifying the absolute need for a blade that could do absolutely everything. From skinning your game to working wood. For enjoying your fillet next to a roaring fire, this knife does it all.

Made with 01 steel, of yesteryear, it was developed in 1868, called Mushet steel, and then 2%C, and 2,5% Mn were added.  The steel was originally air hardened to due to high manganese content and had extremely hard resistance due to the high Carbon and tungsten. It was the main tool steel used, other than simple carbon steel, for about 25 years. The steel is then heat treated in a molten salt bath to HRC 58-60. This gives it the correct balances of strength, sharpness, sharpness retention and lack of brittleness for its required use.

The handles are made from 1000-year-old Wild Olive. It was barn cured in Turkey for 30 years, before being ready to work with. The wood is then pressure "cooked" in cactus juice, at 2 bars of pressure for approximately 6 weeks. This process "seals" the wood and preserves it for generations to come.

All our knives are fully hand made, and hand sanded down to 1500 grit, 2-part epoxy glued, then pure brass pinned for a super strong fit, and blued, much like the process used on shot gun actions.

Our sheaths are all made from 100% sustainably sourced bovine leather which is vegetable tanned and hand stitched to fit each individual blade.
