Description
Description
This beautifully grained Russia' leather keyring is handmade in England by master leather workers. The rich tones of the leather are complemented by brass hardware.
The leather used to make this keyring was discovered on the shipwreck of the Metta Catharina, a Dutch cargo ship sailing from Russia that sank off the Cornish coast in 1786. Perfectly preserved underwater, it is a beautiful example of the Russian tanning technique that could never be replicated anywhere else in the world and is lost to this day. The commemorative date of the shipwreck is stamped on one side.
